'A Girl can be Independent and Not be Alone. You'll be Happy in the WRAC', 1960 (c)
Recruiting poster, colour lithograph, published by the War Office, 1960 (c).
During the 1960s, women of the Women's Royal Army Corps were deployed to Aden and to Northern Ireland. The poster eludes to the fact that, whilst an Army career could give women the independence they might never have had before, they would primarily serve as WRAC but attached to another Army regiment of corps, such as the Royal Corps of Signals.
