T100/R teleprinter, 1962

The teleprinter was first produced by Siemens in 1962 and went out of service in 1988.

This teleprinter was used for transmitting messages over Army Telecommunications networks. This example was used by 2 Signal Brigade, an operational brigade of the Royal Corps of Signals. It was most likely used by Data Telegraphists, primarily women from the Women's Royal Army Corps (WRAC), who were attached to the Royal Signals. Members of the WRAC were regularly attached to other corps and regiments, expanding the amount of trades they could work in to around 40.
