Vapour detector kit used by members of the Women's Royal Army Corps, 1953

This kit was designed to detect chemical agents. Both the Western powers and the Eastern Bloc nations had large stockpiles of chemical weapons during the Cold War and both sides issued similar kits to their soldiers.
