Officers' collar badge, The Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment (Berkshire and Wiltshire), 1980 (c)

This regiment was formed in September 1959 by merging The Royal Berkshire Regiment (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) and The Wiltshire Regiment (Duke of Edinburgh's).

Its badge is formed of a silver cross patee (inherited from the Wiltshires) at the centre of which is a silver Chinese-style dragon (from the Berkshires). The dragon is surrounded by a double coil of naval rope (commemorating the marine services of its ancestor regiment the 49th Foot).
