General Pershing and Emilie Hilda Horniblow, France 1918

General John Joseph 'Black Jack' Pershing (1860-1948) was commander of the American Expeditionary Forces on the Western Front during World War One (1914-1918), 1917-1918.
Emilie Hilda Horniblow (nee Dalton) (1886-1950) served as Chief Controller of the Queen Mary's Army Auxiliary Corps in France in 1917. In 1918 she led a large detachment of women attached to the US Arrmy's Record Office based in Bourges.
