Photograph, Mesopotamia (modern Iraq), 1915 (c).

HMS Miner was an armed launch used by the British in Mesopotamia during World War One (1941-1918). She was commanded by Lieutenant C G Heath-Caldwell, Royal Navy, and was armed with a 2-pounder gun, a 3-pounder gun and a machine gun. The vessel was holed and run aground in December 1914 during an operation up the Shatt al-Arab Waterway to take the town of Kurna.
