British Mark II tank, 'C21', Arras, 1917

Mark II tank of 'C' Battalion, Tank Corps moving forward during the Battle of Arras. The tank, armed with two 6 pounder guns is carrying tools and beams to assist with un-ditching. Over 50 Mark IIs took part in the Battle of Arras and several were knocked out by German gunners firing armour-piercing machine gun ammunition.
