'Camp Anglais Devant Sebastopol', 1855

British camp at the Siege of Sevastopol during the Crimean War (1854-1856).
British officers and men from various regiments converse and relax close to a shattered windmill marked 'Quartier General'. One tent is marked to the 93rd Highlanders. In the right foreground is a pile of camp equipment including a warming pan, portmanteau and a tea chest.
