'Camp Anglais Devant Sebastopol', 1855

Coloured lithograph after Louis Pierre Rene de Moraine (1816-1864), from 'War in the Crimea', an album of 61 coloured lithographs, published by Lemercier et Compagnie, Paris 1856 (c).

British camp at the Siege of Sevastopol during the Crimean War (1854-1856).

British officers and men from various regiments converse and relax close to a shattered windmill marked 'Quartier General'. One tent is marked to the 93rd Highlanders. In the right foreground is a pile of camp equipment including a warming pan, portmanteau and a tea chest.
