Pattern 1908 Indian Army Cavalry Trooper's sword, 1918 (c)
The Indian cavalry received a modified version of the revolutionary Pattern 1908 sword in 1918. It was basically the same as the British sword, although the bowl was smaller and the grip, made of walnut rather than plastic, shorter, to accommodate the smaller south Asian hand. As the sword was a wartime issue it was painted khaki to reduce glare.
