Browning .30 inch M1918A2 automatic rifle, 1938 (c)
The American-made M1918 was introduced in the final year of World War One (1914-1918) and remained in US Army service until the 1950s. It was designed to be carried by infantrymen during an assault on trenches and defended positions, offering additional firepower. Most models of the Browning had a firing rate of around 500-650 rounds a minute. The Browning was used by the British Home Guard in World War Two (1939-1945).
