'Waterloo Heroes Assembled at Apsley House on 18th June, 1842'

Group portrait of Field Marshal the Duke of Wellington and 31 of his staff officers assembled for dinner on the anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo (1815). The sitters are: Earl of Stafford, Sir E Kerrison Bt, Hon H Murray, Sir John Waters, Sir Robert Gardiner, Lord Fitzroy Somerset (later Lord Raglan), Sir G Scovell, Lord Hill, Sir P Maitland, Sir H Hardinge (later Viscont Hardinge), Sir A Dickson, Hon E P Lygon, Sir C Broke Vere, Sir H G Townsend, Marquess of Anglesey, Lord Sandys, Sir J Lambert, Sir J Kempt, Lord Saltoun, Sir Neil Douglas, Duke of Richmond, Sir A Barnard, Lord Vivian, Hon G Cathcart, Colonel R Egerton, Sir H D Ross, Colonel Rowan, Sir T Reynell and Colonel John Gurwood.
