His Royal Highness William Duke of Cumberland, 1740 (c)

Mezzotint by and after Bockman, published by John Bowles, Cornhill, 1740 (c).

Prince William Augustus was the third and favourite son of King George II, and became Duke of Cumberland in 1726. From 1740 to 1742 he was Colonel of the Coldstream Guards.
