No 6 Platoon, 'B' Company, 4th Battalion, The King's African Rifles, 1940 (c)

The King's African Rifles were made up of British officers and African soldiers. The 4th Battalion were recruited in Uganda. The platoon shown here are armed with Short Magazine Lee-Enfield (SMLE) Rifles, the standard infantry weapon of the Commonwealth's armies during World War Two.
