No. 7 Platoon, 4th Battalion, The King's African Rifles, on parade, 1939-1941 (c)

Like all King's African Rifles units, the 4th Battalion was commanded by British officers. The rank and file and NCOs were African. The majority of the 4th Battalion's men were recruited in Uganda.
