Boer War Tribute Medal awarded to Trooper W Brown, 3rd Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry, issued by the town of Strensall, 1901
Walter Brown was born on 28 June 1874 and served during the Boer War (1899-1902) with the 9th (Yorkshire Hussars) Company of the 3rd Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry. His award was reported in the 'Yorkshire Evening Press' of 19 June 1901. Brown was probably the only recipient of this medal. He died on 19 December 1942.
