Boer War tribute medal awarded to Sapper J Hustwick, Royal Engineers, presented by the town of Addingham, Yorkshire, 1902
There was immense civic pride in the achievements of the soldiers who fought in the Boer War (1899-1902), many of whom had volunteered for service in South Africa. Towns and cities across the British Empire issued medals such as this to mark their service.
