Boer War tribute medal awarded to Sergeant Rastall, The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Princess Louise's) by Thistleworks, Paisley
The Boer War (1899-1902) was notable for the number of civilian soldiers who volunteered for service in South Africa. There was immense civic pride in their achievements and many towns and cities issued medals such as this to mark their service.
