SS Ranchi, the Peninsular and Oriental (P&O) Steam Navigation Company ocean liner, on the voyage back to England from Bombay. The SS Ranchi was launched in 1925 and served with the Royal Navy during World War Two (1939-1945) and was eventually scrapped in 1953.
