'4th: Bn. The Worcestershire Regt. marching out of the battle area after 'Cambrai' 1917', having suffered severe losses'

A mounted officer (and a small dog) lead a column of marching infantrymen.

The 4th Battalion was part of 88th Brigade in 29th Division. The unit is pictured here going back to the rear for a rest after sustaining heavy losses during the Battle of Cambrai in 1917.
