Typescript memoirs of Vere Brodie entitled 'Tea and Talk'

Her account begins with joining the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) and the end of 1917, having previously been in the Voluntary Aid Detachment. She describes undertaking drill at Connaught House, training on Salisbury Plain, working at the Remount Depot at Shirehampton. The memoir also mentions the Spanish Flu epidemic and Armistice Day in 1918.

Brodie also answered a request for German speakers to join the Army of Occupation in Cologne. She was attached to the Military Police, preventing contraband smuggling, and engaged in passport duties. She was later put in charge of the WAACs at St Pol as Senior Unit Administrator. Brodie assisted with the moving of the body of the Unknown Warrior to London.
