Beret worn by Colonel Andrew Jeffrey Pinion, 29 Commando Regiment, Royal Artillery, 1968-1970
Made by Moss Bros, Covent Garden, 1969 (c).
29 Regiment was formed shortly after World War Two (1939-1945) as a Royal Artillery field regiment. In 1962 it was re-roled to provide the artillery element of 3 Commando Brigade. All ranks within the Regiment are required to complete the all arms commando course, which qualifies them to serve within 3 Commando Brigade. As such they are also entitled to wear the green commando beret.
