Leete was the graphic artist responsible for the famous World War One recruitment poster featuring Field Marshal Lord Kitchener's head and pointing finger, with the words, 'Wants You', below.
Leete worked for a number of magazines, including 'Punch' and 'The Strand Magazine'; the latter included illustrations for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's article, 'An Outing in War-Time'. Leete's commercial work included promoting the London Underground and products such as Guinness Irish stout and Bovril meat extract.
