214 Field Company, Royal Engineers, working on a Bailey Bridge and a track for tanks, May 1944

214 Field Company were a Territorial Army company serving with the 78th Division. The bridge was built in two days during which the sappers were under continuous fire. The bailey bridge was situated about 1000 yards from the bridges over the River Gari.
