A mule train on a mountain pass towards Tangoucha, North Africa, 1943
Photograph, World War Two, North Africa (1940-1943), 1943.
The mules are shown passing several Churchill tanks which were undergoing repairs after supporting the infantry over the rough terrain in the area. Tangoucha was a rocky peak near Tunis and had many natural caves which the German defenders made good use of.
From a collection of British official war photographs relating to the 78th Division.
