Silver brooch by Marshall Brothers, hallmarked Birmingham, 1906-1907 (c); unit monogram, 'XHX', on an inverted horseshoe, with scroll bearing the battle honours, 'Peninsula', 'Vimiera' and 'Suakin 1885', with pin back; in velvet-lined case.

Small, jewelled representations of regimental and unit badges of this type were given by serving officers to their wives and girlfriends.
