Mark I tank, 'C19', 'Clan Leslie', 1916

Photograph, World War One, Western Front (1914-1918), 1916.

A Mark I tank with grenade screens and rear steering wheel device advances with infantry marching behind. 'Clan Leslie' was commanded by Captain Archie Holford-Walker but missed the Flers-Courcelette operation on the Somme due to a damaged tail assembly.
