Sardinian War Medal, 1856, awarded to Major (later Lieutenant-General) George Neeld Boldero, 21st Regiment (Royal North British Fusiliers)

Boldero (1829-1898) was first commissioned in the 87th Regiment of Foot (Royal Irish Fusiliers) in 1847, transferring to the 21st (Royal North British Fusiliers) Regiment of Foot in 1850. He fought as a captain in the Crimea and was awarded the brevet of major on 12 December 1854.
