The Tornado entered RAF service in 1980 and continued to be flown until 2019. A multi-role aircraft, it was used as a fighter bomber, fighter interceptor and in the suppression of enemy air defences during the Gulf War (1991), Kosovo War (1999), Afghanistan (2001-2014) and Iraq War (2003-2011).
