US ammunition pouch for M1 carbine, 1944

Made by Camlin Fashions of America Inc, USA.

In the early phase of the Korean War (1950-1953), British troops often used American equipment as it was in plentiful supply. The M1 carbine was used extensively by the British, but was not as successful in Korea as in Malaya because it did not function well in extreme cold. This ammunition pouch was used by Lieutenant (later Colonel) Leslie Sharpe of The Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge's Own).
