Formation badge, 301st Infantry Brigade, Gunner A T Watts, 1945 (c)
Printed cotton, decorated with two crossed guns in blue on a red background.
By the end of 1944 the British was suffering a manpower shortage, especially of infantry. As a result this brigade was created from surplus Royal Artillery (RA) personnel who were retrained as infantry. The brigade was disbanded at the end of the war. The colours used, the crossed guns and cannon ball reflect the artillery origins of the brigade.
