Camp chair, 1944 (c)
This British Army standard issue camp chair was used by Captain Alfred Rowe of the Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge's Own) during World War Two (1939-1945).
Rowe served as a Beachmaster during Operation OVERLORD, the Normandy Invasion, in 1944. He was first commissioned in June 1940 into the Royal Corps of Signals. Rowe became a quartermaster in The Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge's Own) in 1944 and retired in 1948.
