From an album of photographs relating to Lieutenant William Charles Carter who served in 28th Battalion, London Regiment (Artists Rifles) and 13 Squadron Royal Flying Corps during World War One.
The BE2 was a British single-engine aircraft used for reconnaissance and light bombing. It was also developed into a night fighter to combat German Zeppelins and airships.
