Christmas gift box sent to Australian troops, 1915
The box was sent by the Australian War Contingent Association in London. This organisation was established shortly after the outbreak of war in 1914. By July 1916 it had spent over £15,000 in donations on tobacco, personal kit, clothing, sweets and chocolate, reading material and games for Australian troops at the front and in England.
