After successful tests in 1935 the Model 16H single cylinder air-cooled 500 cc motorcycle was ordered officially. From 1936 to 1945 annual contracts were placed for the machine, the longest length of time the War Office ever kept buying one model. The type continued in use after World War Two, until the 1950s.
