Letter from the Central Prisoner of War Committee informing Martha Cole of the death of her husband, 21 January 1919

Private Charlie Cole served with the 7th Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent) Regiment) during World War One (1914-1918).

In 1918 he became a prisoner of war, and was incarcerated at Stendal in Germany. He died there as a prisoner on 17 September 1918.

This letter informs Cole's wife Martha that the Central Prisoners of War Committee in London has received notice of her husband's death.
