Five soldiers from 7th Battalion The Buffs (East Kent Regiment), 1916 (c)

The 7th (Service) Battalion was raised at Canterbury in September 1914 as part of Kitchener's Second New Army and joined 55th Brigade of 18th (Eastern) Division. The men shown here include Private Alfred Price (second from left) who died on 14 July 1916 after being wounded the previous day at the Battle of Trones Wood during the Somme offensive.
