Formation badge, West Riding District (Northern Command), World War Two, 1942 (c)
Printed cotton, diamond-shaped cotton badge, in yellow, green and black, with a hanging golden fleece suspended from a ring, set on a green ground with yellow edges, 1942 (c).
The badges were produced in pairs so that when worn on each arm the ram would always face forwards.
The hanging golden fleece is indicative of the wool industry associated with the area of the West and East Ridings of Yorkshire.
