Side drum, 1st Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment), 1925 (c)
Made by Hawkes and Son, London, 1925 (c).
Comprises an emblazoned brass shell with wooden counterhoops, rope-tensioned with British style white leather braces and battle honours to the end of the First World War.
A piece of laminated wood has been placed over the batter head for the purpose of converting the drum into a table, a popular conversion for drums which had been retired from military use.
