Pair of aluminium identity discs on string, 1950 (c)
The discs, which carry the owner's name and service number, were used by the military for the identification of dead and wounded personnel. They also carried basic medical information such as the owner's blood group. These discs were worn by 439083 Private Francis Salmond Gillespie Pearson, a National Serviceman who served during the Korean War (1950-1953) with The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders.
