Gurkha Engineers building a bridge to replace one destroyed by NATO bombing, Kosovo, 1999

The Queen's Gurkha Engineers was formed in 1948. Since then it has carried out combat engineering tasks during British Army deployments around the globe. During their Kosovo service, Gurkha engineers also cleared mines and unexploded ordnance.

One of 48 colour photographs taken by Sgt David John Miles, a reservist who volunteered to serve with 4 Armoured Brigade as Brigade photographer under the direction of Media Ops, Kosovo, 1999.
