'The Eighth', 1943

This allegorical work depicts an infantryman of the 8th Army grasping a swastika-covered snake by the throat, with a dove flying above, and flames below. In the upper left of the drawing is a figure kneeling in prayer, with a shining cross in front of the Sphinx at Giza.
