Rubber 1.5 inch bullet, 1981
Soldiers on riot duties in Northern Ireland often carried anti-riot guns that fired rubber bullets. The use of the latter against rioters was highly controversial, as was the temporary deployment of tear gas during the early years of 'the Troubles'.
