3-inch Mk VI Mortar Bomb, 1953
Mortar bombs, fired at a high trajectory, were a great asset in the mountainous terrain of Korea. Primarily a support company weapon, the 3-inch mortar was capable of firing 10 rounds a minute up to 1.5 miles. Where time allowed, the mortars were dug into shallow sandbag lined pits.
