Tel-el-Jemmi was a hill that overlooked the line between Gaza and Beersheba, it formed part of the British defence lines during the Stalemate in Southern Palestine between April and October 1917.
From a collection of photographs taken by Corporal Joseph Egerton, Shropshire Yeomanry in Sinai and Palestine.
