'PS Niagra', a requisitioned paddle steamer carrying wounded Australian troops on the Suez Canal, 1917

'PS Niagra' was a paddle steamer of the Anglo-American Nile Navigation Company. It was requisitioned during World War One to transport wounded men on the Suez Canal between El Qantara and Port Said in Egypt.

From a collection of photographs taken by Corporal Joseph Egerton, Shropshire Yeomanry in Sinai and Palestine.
