Officer's coat worn by Lieutenant-Colonel William Troughton, 129th Regiment, 1795 (c)

William Troughton was responsible for raising Troughton's Regiment of Foot in Coventry on 1 September 1793. Two years later this unit was numbered as the 129th Regiment of Foot. After serving at Portsmouth and Gibraltar the regiment was disbanded in 1796.
