Medal group comprising, 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star 1941-45 and British War Medal 1939-45.
Gunner Simon Moss of the 77th (Welsh) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery, was taken prisoner by the Japanese on the island of Java on 8 March 1942. He spent the next three years in a number of prisoner of war camps, and participated in the construction of the Burma-Thailand railway.
