Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, 1897

Coloured chromolithograph by G and F Gast, published in 'The Graphic', 1897.

Three central vignettes depicting land and naval battle scenes and a border with portraits of notable Victorians. The battle pictures include reproductions of: Richard Caton Woodville's 'Relief of the Light Brigade', showing the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava, during the Crimean War; the Bombardment of Sevastopol, also during the Crimean War; Alphonse de Neuville's 'The Battle of Tel-el-Kebir' depicting British troops in the Egyptian War (1882).
