White cotton and leather outer mittens, 1950 (c)
These were designed to be worn over knitted mittens. They were issued at Kunu-ri, during the United Nations advance into North Korea in November 1950. Gloves were vital to combat the freezing conditions; unprotected skin would often stick to weapons and vehicles.
