Private of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry in marching order, 1917

The 6th (Service) Battalion had landed in France at Boulogne in July 1915 with the 20th (Light) Division. The artist was killed while serving with the 6th Battalion near Poperinge on 31 August 1917. He is buried at Mendinghem Military Cemetery.
